CANCER AWARENESS: Race For The Cure

The Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure” is at 8:30 the morning of October 27th.

It is scheduled for October, because it’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Each year, about 20,000 Iowans participate in the 5K trek.  That makes it one of the largest races, per capita in the country.

The race allows participants to remember those who lost the battle to cancer and those who beat it.

All the money raised goes to cancer research.
