MURDER CASE: Frederiksen In Court

Accused murderer Casey Frederiksen was in a Floyd County court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.

Last month, prosecutors charged Frederiksen with first degree murder and first degree sexual abuse in the death of five-year-old Evelyn Miller.

Frederiksen was watching Miller the night she disappeared from her mother’s Floyd apartment in 2005. Her body was found five days later next to the Cedar River.

Frederiksen is currently serving a federal sentence for child pornography.

Monday he was taken from a prison in Illinois and transported back to Iowa, where he will face trial on the murder and sexual abuse charges. Bond was set Tuesday at $1 million on each charge.
