BUGGY ACCIDENT: Amish Buggy Crash Update
An 18-year-old girl is in critical but stable condition in a Des Moines hospital after the Amish buggy she was in collided with a semi-trailer.
Laura Kurtz and a 10-year-old female passenger, both from Centerville, were traveling near Numa in Appanoose county Tuesday morning.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the horse pulling the buggy unexpectedly darted out into oncoming traffic, putting the girls in the path of a semi-trailer.
The driver, 53-year-old Dennis Jackson of Centerville was not hurt.
The 10-year-old was taken to Wayne County Hospital for treatment. Here condition is unknown.
