A teenager who police say was killed by his friend has been laid to rest, but the victim’s mother says, the teen who shot her son should not go to prison.

Friends remember 16-year old Corey Hamilton for his sense of humor, his infectious smile, and his trademark afro.  Hamilton was killed after police say his friend, 16-year old Dontavius Sharkey, accidentally shot him while playing with a gun last Friday.  Prosecutors have charged Sharkey with involuntary manslaughter and want to try him as an adult.   But Hamilton’s mother says Sharkey doesn’t belong in prison.

"He's already punished enough." Tiffany Hamilton says, "That was his best friend. He wasn't a stranger.  It's someone my son was with every day.  It was a total accident."

Hamilton's family says they want Sharkey to finish school and become successful as a tribute to Hamilton.
