This recipe makes enough for 4-6 apples depending on the size of the apple. Peel and core apples. Wrap with your favorite pie crust keeping the top opened. Place in greased pan.

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (add more or less to liking)
  • ½ teaspoon salt (add more or less to liking)
  • 1 stick soften butter

Mix together with a pastry blender and stuff into wrapped apple

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt (add more or less to liking)
  • 1 teaspoom cinnamon (add more or less to liking)
  • 1 cup apple cider

Whisk together and pour over wrapped and stuffed apple filling the pan ½ way.  Any extra can be used to pour/baste over apples midway through baking.

Bake at 350

After 30 minutes baste with more liquid, then continue baking for 10-15 more minutes. Crust should be golden brown and the apple should be soft.

Baking time will vary depending on the type of apple ie. Mcintosh will bake faster than a Granny Smith.

After cooling top with caramel, whipped topping, ice cream or all three!
