WORK RELEASE: Rodriguez Appeals To Parole Board

A man convicted of vehicular homicide is going before the parole board to be considered for a work release program.

Orlando Rodriguez will appear before the board Tuesday.  A jury convicted Rodriguez of killing 48-year-old Bruce Mundy in 2009.

Rodriguez hit Mundy while Mundy was riding his motorcycle.  At the time, Rodriguez was trying to escape police after not paying for fuel at a Southside gas station.

Rodriguez was sentenced to 10 years in prison in May of 2010.

Members of the Mundy family plan to attend the hearing saying they think it’s too early to consider Rodriguez for work release.
