SCHOOL BREAKFAST: Teachers See Improvements In Classroom
Top hunger and nutrition experts visited a Des Moines school Thursday to officially kick-off a new program called “Breakfast in the Classroom.”
Fifteen schools in the Des Moines district are taking part in the program this year. It’s funded by the Walmart foundation.
Each day a volunteer student rolls the hot or cold meals into each homeroom. The students dig in just after the bell rings.
All the students eat for free, each morning.
Teachers say they’ve seen an improvement in the student’s behavior since the program started.
