The colder weather is helping some Fort Dodge college students make a point.

Last year was the first year for “Think Inside the Box”.

“It’s a service learning project and a community action project…where we are going to sleep outside on the campus in cardboard boxes,” says student Stacie Coppinger

It’s an effort by some Iowa Central Community College students to raise awareness and support for the local homeless shelter — Beacon of Hope.

This year the school is looking for four to five-hundred students to turn out. Even though the weather may not be the best, they are planning activities all night.

People can drop off money and donations at the Iowa Central Campus in Fort Dodge overnight Friday.
