BATTERY CHECK: Firefighters Knock On Doors

This week, West Des Moines residents may get a knock at the door from firefighters.

On Wednesday evening, firefighters are planning to knock on doors in the Valley Junction area. 

When residents open the door, fire fighters will offer fire safety tips and encourage people to change their smoke detector batteries on Sunday when they change their clocks. 

While crews are there, they’ll offer to do home safety inspections and hand out free batteries.
