CASINO PROJECT: Ankeny City Council Deal
An Iowa company is hoping to build another casino on the east side of the metro.
The Ankeny city council has approved a 5-year contract with Wild Rose Entertainment. The gambling company hopes to acquire a license for a casino near a new interchange on Interstate 35.
The contract states Ankeny will not provide tax incentives or other financial support.
Wild Rose is calling for a $150 million project that would create about 600 jobs and provide Ankeny with more than $500,000 in annual revenue.
There are currently 21 casinos in Iowa that bring in total revenue of about $1.4 billion every year.
