ROBBERY SHOOTING: Police Chief Hospitalized

Police Chief Dennis Cain is in the thoughts and prayers of the people of Sumner as he remains hospitalized after being shot in the line of duty Tuesday.

Cain and State Trooper Mark Domino were both shot and injured while chasing two men suspected of robbing the Maynard Savings Bank.

Twenty four-year old Jeremiah Mumford of New Hampton is charged with six counts of attempted murder and five counts of terrorism.

Nineteen-year old William Clayton of Osage is charged with six counts of aiding and abetting and five counts of terrorism.

While Mumford and Clayton remain in jail, Dennis Cain remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
