This election cycle is almost over but one thing that doesn’t seem to be changing is peoples’ willingness to “share” every aspect of their lives through social networking.

Letting friends know how you voted on Tuesday might feel like second nature to some, but if you do it by taking a picture of the ballot while in the polling place – you may be breaking the law.

Before you post your ballot pic on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook make sure you’re following the rules. Gizmodo has a list of the laws state-by-state here.

As for Iowa? Gizmodo reports it is illegal to use cameras, cellular telephones, pagers, or other electronic communications devices in a voting booth in Iowa.
