Just two days after the election, the Republican Party of Iowa will gather for a nominating convention.

Thursday night, the party will select a candidate to replace Senator Pat Ward in Iowa Senate District 22.

Ward passed away last month following a long battle with breast cancer.  Ward’s husband, John has expressed interest in serving for his wife.

Whoever the Republican Party nominates will go up against Democrat Desmund Adams in a special election on December 11th.
