Metro officers caught a federal fugitive after a high speed chase through the metro Thursday.

The chase began around 11:15 Thursday morning at 1411 East 33rd street in Des Moines.  After about 15 minutes, the driver ditched his vehicle near East 32nd street and Dubuque Avenue and ran away off.

A passenger, 30-year-old Chad Bradford was arrested there.

Authorities say the driver, 30-year-old Denny Hoffman, eventually made his way to a home in the area.  The resident let Hoffman inside, and just minutes later police arrive to arrest Hoffman.

Both men are now in the Polk County Jail.
