NEW MEMORIAL: Veterans Honored In Urbandale

Hundreds of people turned out for the dedication ceremony for the new Urbandale Veterans Memorial Monday morning.

The memorial is located at the Charles Gabus Memorial Tree Park and Gardens on 86th Street near the Urbandale Library. 

Members of the Urbandale Community Action Network say they thought of adding the memorial during the groundbreaking of its current site in May.

Organization leaders say the idea became reality through the hard work of volunteers, private donations and the sale of memorial bricks.
