FOOD DRIVE: Causes Road Closure

If you’ll be driving around downtown Des Moines this week, be aware of some road closures caused by one of the biggest fundraisers of the year.

Combat Hunger the food drive that benefits the Food Bank of Iowa is taking place Thursday and Friday.

People are encouraged to drop off food or donations from their car between 5 A.M. to 6 P.M.

Commuters should plan ahead.  Starting a noon Wednesday, 12th street between Locust and Grand will be closed.

 The street will reopen Friday at 6 P.M.
