SHOOTING CASE: Person Of Interest Sought

Des Moines police are hoping the public can help them locate a man wanted as a person of interest in a shooting case.

Police say the shooting happened November 6th in the 2100 block of Forest Ave. The victim, Joseph Lewis, was inside a parked vehicle along with three others when someone shot into the car hitting him in the face. The shooting seriously injured Lewis but he survived.

Police are looking for a man they say may be able to help them further case, but have been unable to locate 21-year-old Daveion Trell Smith. He is described as an African-American male, five-foot-ten, and 150 pounds. He has a tattoo on the right side of his neck that says, “Zaniyah”.
