TRAIN ACCIDENT: Police Identify Victim

Officials have released the name of the man injured in a train accident in Marshalltown Wednesday.

Marshalltown police say 38-year-old Edwin Rolando Lugo was found trapped under a train’s engine Wednesday morning at the Union Pacific railroad track under the Center Street via-duct.

Paramedics took him by helicopter to a Des Moines hospital, where he is in the intensive care unit with major multiple injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
