SPECIAL GUEST: Rubio Speaking At Branstad Event

Gov. Terry Branstad will celebrate his birthday this weekend with a big-name guest.

Florida senator Marco Rubio will headline the governor’s annual birthday fundraiser Saturday.

The event is at the Palace Theater at Adventureland in Altoona. It starts at 5:30 p.m.

Senator Rubio’s appearance further fuels the speculation he’s eyeing a 2016 presidential bid.

The fundraiser gives him a chance to meet up with state republicans. Last year, six Republican candidates were slated to speak at the event.

Governor Branstad turns 66 this year.
