A Des Moines jogger is in the hospital, and the hit and run driver who put her there is still free. Now police need your help to put that person behind bars.

"I guess someone hit me." Kendra Cantelope says from her hospital bed, "I don't really remember anything.  I just remember running.  Just like normal. And then I was here."  Cantelope has several fractures, plus road rash over much of her body.

Kendra was running along the 3600 block of 56th Street near Douglas Avenue when she was hit.  Then the driver just took off.  "It's pretty upsetting. It's pretty upsetting." she says, "I guess one of the witnesses thought I was a trash bag in the gutter.  And thank God he came to check it out and saw that it was me and called 911."

Witnesses say Kendra was hit by what appeared to be a gray or silver Toyota.  Part of the Toyota’s grill was found at the scene.  If you know anyone with a gray or silver Toyota that was recently damaged, call Des Moines police.
