MAN SHOT: Victim Not Cooperating

Des Moines police are investigating a shooting that sent one victim to the hospital Tuesday.

Police responded to East 14th and Cleveland on a “shots fired” call during the noon hour.

They didn’t find anyone there but minutes-later 21-year-old Wayne Manuel of Des Moines showed up at Mercy with a gunshot to his stomach.

Authorities don’t believe the injury is life threatening.

Police say Manuel isn’t cooperating with authorities and there are no suspects at this time.
