Metro Police are looking for a suspect they believe robbed two pharmacies.

Around 4 p.m. Wednesday Altoona Police were called to the Medicap Pharmacy at 28th Avenue Southwest.

Police say a man entered the pharmacy, gave the clerk a note saying he had a gun and demanded narcotics. The pharmacist gave him what was on his list and he left.

A few hours earlier a similar incident occurred at the Ward Pharmacy on the East side of Des Moines near the Iowa state fairgrounds.

Altoona Detective Jason Ferguson says he believes the two robberies are related.

Police are now checking security video to try and idenitfy the suspect. They are asking anyone with information to call the Altoona Police Department at 967-5132.
