MAN KILLED: Police Identify Shooting Victim

Police are investigating a shooting on Des Moines’ East Side that left one person dead.

Just after 12:30 A.M. Monday police were called to East 17th and Walnut on reports someone had been shot.

Thirty-one-year-old Eric Naylor of Des Moines was taken to Mercy Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police have classified Naylor’s death a homicide. It is not clear how many times he was shot.

Several witnesses were taken to the police department to be interviewed. Police have not released any information on possible suspects in the shooting.
