NARCOTICS CASE: Newton Meth Lab Found

The Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force discovered a meth lab in Newton Friday.

M.I.N.E. officers were called out to help the Newton Police Department after the discovery of a methamphetamine lab at 926 S. 12th Ave. W in Newton.

Officers discovered items inside and outside the residence that are consistent with meth manufacturing. Tubing, Lithium battery peelings, acid, aluminum foil, and other items were found.

Meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were also discovered in the home.

No criminal charges have been filed yet and the investigation remains open.
