A win in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing could mean a very merry Christmas for the lucky ticket holder.

Iowa Lottery officials say the Powerball jackpot has jumped to an estimated $500 million. No one matched all five numbers and the Powerball in Saturday’s drawing and the jackpot has increased by $173 million since.

This jackpot has been growing since October 3rd and is a record prize for the Powerball game. The previous record jackpot was $365 million and was won in 2006 by a group of Nebraska meatpacking plant workers.

The cash payout for Wednesday’s drawing is $327 million.

You can buy tickets for the drawing up to 8:59 p.m. Wednesday.
