Des Moines police are investigating the discovery of a body in the Raccoon River Tuesday morning.
Police say they were called around 10:10 a.m. after a woman noticed what appeared to be a body in the river near Principal Park, while she was walking on a pedestrian bridge.
The dive team was called out to remove the body from the water. Officials say it is a male, and there didn’t appear to be any obvious signs of trauma but wouldn’t release any other information.
Any autopsy will be conducted to help determine the cause of death.
