An early morning fire near a West Des Moines Apartment complex caused some major damage.

Officials say the fire caused $110,000 worth of damages to the garages near the apartments.

Fire crews responded to the Washington Heights Apartment Complex at 42nd Street and Woodland Avenue after midnight on Tuesday morning.

They found three garages on fire, and the flames quickly spread to two more.

It took them more than an hour to get the fire put out because the cold temperatures had created some icy conditions.

No one was hurt, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
