An arrest has been made in the hit and run of a Des Moines jogger earlier this month.

Kendra Cantelope was running along the 3600 block of 56th Street near Douglas Avenue on November 18th when she was hit by a vehicle. The driver didn’t stop.

Cantelope suffered several fractures and road rash over much of her body.

Des Moines police say the driver of the vehicle, 41-year-old Robert Allen Edmonds, contacted police through his attorney several days after the accident to take responsibility in the case.

Edmonds was arrested Thursday morning and he is charged with failure to render aid(causing serious injury). It is an aggravated misdemeanor. He has bonded out of the Polk County Jail.
