A 30-year-old former athletic high school coach in the metro is facing serious charges.
Investigators are coy on what she’s accused of only saying what she is charged with. Melissa Eshelman of Bondurant was arrested Thursday, on a charge of sexual exploitation by a school employee.
The Polk County Sheriff’s office says Eshelman was formerly a coach at Bondurant-Farrar High School. The district’s website shows she coached 9th grade girls basketball.
The sheriff’s office says the school administrators were made aware of an alleged situation and immediately began an investigation. It was then turned over to the Sheriff’s office.
Investigators are not releasing details of the allegations but say they will pass along information when possible. They added that the school continues to be very cooperative.
Eshelman is no longer in the Polk County Jail.
