DISTRICT 52: Election Date Set
Northern Iowa voters will go back to the polls in January to pick a new representative for Iowa House District 52.
This week democratic state representative Brian Quirk resigned his house seat, less than a month after winning re-election to take a job in his hometown with New Hampton Municipal Light Plant.
Today governor Branstad set a special election date of January 22nd to fill the seat. The district covers all of Floyd and Chickasaw counties, and part of Cerro Gordo County.
Quirk won 71-percent of the vote on election night.
