The Animal Rescue League says Kent Uitts is charged with six counts of livestock neglect after 6 horses were seized from his farm near Lorimor.

The ARL says all six animals were severely underweight, with their ribs showing. One of the horses also had an injured back leg and is now being treated by veterinarians from Iowa State University.

A judge will decide whether to return the animals to their owner or terminate ownership and have the horses put up for adoption.
