WRESTLING RIVALRY: Iowa Defeat Iowa State

The Iowa-Iowa State wrestling match is a great rivalry.  One problem, it has been anything but a rivalry lately.  Hawks have won 8 straight match-ups over ISU and they’re trying to make it 9 Saturday night.

Iowa are ranked 4^th, the Cyclones are not ranked in the top 25. Heavyweight, Bobby Telford, ranked 5th got a late reversal to beat Matt Gibson 3-2 making it 10-3 to the Hawks.

Top ranked Matt Mcdonough rolls over Ryak Finch, 13-2.

Then at 133, John Meeks was no match for 3rd ranked Tony Ramos.  A huge19-7 win for Ramos.

Iowa win 9 of 10 matches making it 9 straight wins over Iowa State in dominating fashion.The match ended  32-3. The 29-point victory was the largest margin of victory in the series since Iowa won 33-4 in 1996.
