The Polk County board of supervisors will vote on adding speed cameras Tuesday.
The Polk County Sheriff is planning to get two or three mobile cameras that can be park on busy highways or in smaller towns. They’re similar to the ones already being used in Des Moines and Windsor Heights.
Tuesday’s vote is the first of three on the cameras. However, the supervisors could waive the other two votes during its meeting.
If approved, the fine for those caught speeding will begin at $65.
That’s the same as the fines issued by the Des Moines and Windsor Heights.
