The weather is pulling a fast one on Iowans once again.  The unseasonably warm weather has more folks heading outdoors, but they won’t be heading out on Big Creek Lake.

The drought has taken its toll on the last open boat ramp at the lake.

Water levels are currently six feet below normal and dropping at the pace of a foot every two weeks. As the water levels continue to drop, the lake has become inaccessible.

Since the ramps are off limits, contractors will be using the opportunity to fix-up the aging structures.

Even when work on the ramps is complete, Park officials say they won’t re-open the ramps until water levels rise.
