IOWA RECORD: Highest Voter Turnout Ever
The November sixth election turned out to be a record-breaker for Iowa.
More than 1.5 million Iowans voted in the 2012 general election, making it the highest turnout for a presidential election ever in the state.
Voters also set a record for early or absentee voting, which brought in more than 688,000 votes.
Fayette County had the highest turnout with more than 84-percent of registered voters casting a ballot.
Fremont County had the lowest turnout with votes coming from just over 61-percent of registered voters.
