STOLEN SUV: Suspects Flip Vehicle, Escape

Police say two people who stole a car on the east side of Des Moines Thursday morning, didn’t get very far.

Officer say at around 7:30 a.m. they got a call that an SUV had been stolen from 1647 York Street. Then at 7:51 a.m., another caller reported seeing that same SUV flipped over in a home’s backyard at 1507 York Street.

The caller also reported seeing two people get out of the SUV and run off.  The caller didn’t have a description of the suspects.

Police say there was blood in the vehicle, and they also found a cell phone that didn’t belong to the SUV’s owner. They say that should help them find out more information on the suspects.
