SCHOOL BOARD: Des Moines Uses Public Input
6 months after Des Moines school superintendent Nancy Sebring resigned, the school board is considering public input as it searches for her replacement.
The board held a special meeting over the noon hour Thursday, to discuss the results of an online survey.
Nearly 1,000 people participated, voicing their opinions on desired qualities in a superintendent. These include being a strong communicator, knowledgeable about emerging research and experienced in district management.
Applications for the position will be made available on Monday.
