FIRST DAY: Cameras Start Clocking

Drivers speeding through Windsor Heights Monday, will soon be hearing from the city.

Monday was the first day the cities’ speed cameras were shooting pictures of offenders.

The two cameras, were stationed in the 1300 block of 73rd Street and the 7100 block on Washington Street.

Drivers going 11 miles per hour or more over the posted limited will be issued citations, but for now, they will just be warnings.

The first fines will be issued on January 14th and they start at $65.

The city will announce the locations of the cameras on their Facebook page and twitter feed.

Residents who feel the cameras should be placed in a certain area can send a request into the city here.
