The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says two men have been charged after a shotgun slug was fired into home Saturday.

Sixty-four-year-old Stephen Kenkel of Grinnell and 52-year-old Gail Lamberson of Logan are charged with shooting within 200 yards of an inhabited building.

The DNR says the incident happened when Kenkel and Lamberson were hunting Saturday near Missouri Valley. A group of deer were crossing the road between Kenkel and house and he fired at the deer.

The slug went through a wall of the home and lodged in the ceiling. There were people home at the time but no one was hurt.
