BEHIND BARS: Couple Found After Escaping Police

A fugitive couple is behind bars, Tuesday after escaping custody and fleeing police.

Curtis Bunnel escaped from custody Monday, from the Wapello County Courthouse. Reports say he ran from a Sheriff’s deputy, while shackled, and dove through the window of the car his wife was waiting in.

The couple was arrested early Tuesday morning at a house in Oskaloosa.

Curtis was being held on a robbery charge, but now he is charged with felony escape. Bunnel’s wife, Latisha will be charged as an accessory.
