BIG 4 CLASSIC: Double-Header Results

Over 13,000 fans turned out for the inaugural Big 4 Classic. 

Last season UNI beat Iowa by 20 at the McLeod Center with Fran McCaffery getting ejected.

This year on a neutral court, there was a much different result.     

Game 1 of the classic saw the Hawks 8-2, take on the Panthers 6-3.

Iowa came out on fire from the outside with Devyn Marble shooting a game high of 30.

Hawks hit 12 3’s, 9 in the first half.

But UNI are scrappy, despite good work from West Fork native Seth Tuttle panthers trailed by 8 at the half.

Iowa always had an answer, Gesell shot a career high 23 for the freshman. 

Iowa beats UNI 80-73. 

Hawks now 9-2 their best start in 4 years.

Mr. Marble was the talk of the game.

Game 2 of the double dip saw Iowa State and Drake.

Cyclones were looking for revenge after losing last season at the Knapp Center.  The Bulldogs were trying to avoid dropping below 500.

ISU up 4 at the half with Ejim asserting himself at will. He likes to dunk.  21 points 11 boards for Mr. Phi Kappa Phi

Drake tried hanging around with Seth Vandeest, the big man can shoot.  He led the dogs with 18. 

But too much from the Clones.  Iowa State wins 86-77.  Melvin Ejim was the difference
