On Sunday night, Iowa child advocate Noreen Gosch was a part of a documentary that aired at 8 p.m. on MSNBC.
The show examined the 30-year search for her missing son, Johnny.
Johnny was just 12 years old when he disappeared while delivering newspapers in West Des Moines.
Back then, there were no amber alerts or a national center for missing and exploited children.
Noreen recalls that “The two words “went missing” are fighting words to me. When there’s clear evidence that they have been kidnapped, then the word is “kidnapped,” not “went missing.”
The Gosches helped change the way we look for missing children.
Johnny became the first missing child featured on school milk cartons.
