Winter Storm On The Way

Ed's Weather Journal

Our chances for a white Christmas is on the rise. A winter storm is expected to hit Iowa Wednesday afternoon and continue through Thursday morning. The storm will offer rain early Wednesday afternoon and then the cold air will switch all precipitation to snow by late Wednesday…and continue to drop snow through Thursday morning.
There is a WINTER STORM WATCH in place Wednesday afternoon through 6PM Thursday.
I think we could see 4″ to 5″ of snow in Des Moines. Higher amounts are expected north of the metro. High wind will also cause blowing and drifting of snow by Thursday.
The storm is still in the Pacific Northwest. Stay tuned to 13.2 Iowa’s Weather Channel for continued coverage.
