People across the metro are getting ready to hunker down for a strong winter storm. Meteorologists predict it could be the worst we’ve seen since December of 2009.

Grocery stores saw crowds Tuesday afternoon, Dahl’s on Ingersoll Avenue told Channel 13 they even had to call in a few extra cashiers. To help get shoppers in and out quickly they also moved items like shovels and snow melt to the front of the store.

Valley West Mall also saw crowds Tuesday; folks said they were trying to get their last minute Christmas gifts in case the storm kept them home-bound for the next few days.

Most people we talked to said they were ready and excited to finally see some snow.
