I’m usually in a mild panic this time of year. As a habitual procrastinator I’m always running around at the last-minute buying and wrapping gifts, throwing up more decorations, worrying about pleasing lots of different people with lots of different demands….
Not this year.
It’s not that I’m anti-presents right now, or anti-holiday cheer … it’s just that most of the stuff we give each other is just that – stuff. Junk. Material items we don’t necessarily want and definitely don’t need.
This year I’m focused on the things you can’t buy in any store. They don’t have price tags and they never go on sale. They are priceless.
You know the sorts of things I’m talking about.
My wish for you this Christmas is that you are surrounded by those things. The important things. The things that aren’t found wrapped in pretty paper under a tree.
If you missed Dan’s beautiful story last night at 10 – it’s a wonderful reminder of what we should be holding dear during this season.
