MURPHY’S LAW: Merry Eve, Pay it Forward, Sonic Horseman
By Chris Hassel
Merry Christmas (eve) to everyone! I want to thank Keith for coming in on Christmas day to work so that John and I can have the day off. I’ll be heading to Muscatine to spend a few days with my family. With the impending move to Connecticut, who knows when I’ll be able to spend the holidays with my family again? I’ve never missed a Christmas at home, before. I’m going to cherish this one.
I had a great time co-hosting SoundOFF for the final time, with Keith. I won’t be on the desk again, but I will have a special Hazzle-Dazzle sendoff, next week.
Remember when Virginia Tech blew out Iowa in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge? For a while it looked like the Hokies were legit? Not anymore. Larry Eustachy’s Colorado State Rams beat VT, Sunday —- by 36! Iowa’s RPI is going to take a hit for that one.
Call me a Grinch, but I’m always worried about going to a fast food place this time of year due to the whole “random acts of kindness” possibility. I’ve never been involved in one of the pay it forward deals but I’m the guy who will just order a $1 coffee, have it paid for by someone in front of me, and then get stuck with a family of six in the car behind me. It’s just my luck.
I guess I’m nothing like Virginia Tech cornerback, Antone Exum. I’m worried about a $30 meal. He just gave away nearly $500.
Here’s the picture of the week. A man riding a horse ordering at Sonic.
