The number of deaths on Iowa roads in 2012 increased from last year.
As of Monday, 357 people were killed in traffic accidents. In all of 2011 there were 343 fatalities.
Officials say the increase can be attributed to a spike in motorcycle deaths. The warm dry weather prompted motorcyclists to get out on the roads in early spring and continue to ride into November.
As a result, 56 motorcyclists died compared to 34 in 2011.
