TRAIN CRASH: Downtown Incident

One person is recovering Saturday morning after a car was hit by a train in downtown Des Moines Friday night.

LeeAnn Respass posted these photos of the accident on our facebook page.

It happened around 9 p.m. on the tracks near Fifth and Cherry Street.

Paramedics took one person in the car to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.Two other people in the car were not hurt.

Police say they are still investigating. It is unclear if icy road conditions played a factor.
