An eastern Iowa bar manager is now facing kidnapping and false imprisonment charges.

Officials say a young female was working with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office on a routine alcohol compliance check.

The girl went into Fennelly’s Irish Pub in Elkader last week and asked for a 6-pack of beer. The manager, 33-year-old Timothy Finley checked her ID and accused her of being part of a sting.

Finley threatened the girl, told her to get in the basement and wouldn’t let her leave. The girl was eventually able to escape and told deputies.

Beside kidnapping and false imprisonment, Finley is also facing a harassment charge.
