APE TRUST: USDA Exhibitor’s License Granted

The Great Ape Trust will soon be open for tours.

The trust, also known as the Iowa Primate Learning Sanctuary, received its exhibitor’s license from the U.S. Department of Agriculture late last month.

Board members hope the tours will eventually allow the trust, which has faced financial difficulties, to sustain itself.

The exhibitor’s license was granted a little more than a month after the death of Panbanisha, a 27-year old bonobo, said to understand English.
